Falling in love can spring up overnight or gradually wrap around us like a warm blanket a cold fall morning. And it's as possible to fall in love with something as it is with someone. Five years ago, Jennifer Reid was looking for "a program that would help assess student knowledge." When she tried Let's Go Learn, she "fell in love."
As a special Ed teacher for more than 18 years Ms. Reid believes "all students can learn." She went on to say: "They might learn in a different way, but they can learn and be successful. It is the job of every teacher, general education and special education, to show all students that they can learn; that they can be successful; and that it is ok if it takes them longer or takes them a different way to learn something."
How does Ms. Reid use Let's Go Learn? "I use the assessment data to help me group my students in to learning groups. I also use the data from the assessments to help me write goals on IEPs and to have updated data for the present level of performance on student IEPs. I have also used the data to help provide general education teachers with additional information for students they have brought to child study meetings or to RTI meetings."
Ms. Reid is a Special Education Resource/ID Coach for Peoria Unified School District. Her belief in her students and her confidence in their ability to succeed is awe-inspiring. We commend her and thank her for letting us support her work in the classroom and for sharing her love story with Let's Go Learn.
