Elizabeth Stein has a lovely article in Education Week Teacher entitled "Three Things You Can Do This Summer to Be a Better Teacher in the Fall." Her three suggestions might surprise you. First, she advises that we practice mindfulness and gives several suggestions on how to do so. Second, she urges us to read, reflect, and plan -- just as many of us have advised our students. And third, she suggests that we connect, collaborate, listen, and share! During the hectic hullabaloo of the school year, there is rarely time to think deeply, wonder, peruse, or chat with colleagues about things related to our profession. So think about taking her advice and getting into the zen of teaching. When school starts again, remember Let's Go Learn can help you plan and deliver PD on literacy, mathematics, data-driven instruction, and blended learning.
