UNIQUE READER SAMPLE INSTRUCTION
Unique Reader is an online instructional system that utilizes diagnostic assessment to focus reading instruction on the areas in which it is most needed. This powerful combination of assessment and instruction represents a new paradigm in teaching tools that will not only help the learner but will also help teachers and parents, who often lack useful diagnostic information about their students and children. Initially, as first-time students use Unique Reader, they are assessed in reading. Immediately after completing an assessment, students are placed into four tracks of online reading instruction (see below). Generally, lessons follow a tutorial, reinforcement, and graded-review format. Students complete a full lesson before being automatically rotated to the next track. If a student has tested out of a track or the teacher or parent has chosen to turn off a track, then the student will rotate through the remaining three tracks.
Below are seven sample lessons of varying difficulty for you to review. Click on the lesson-component links in the far right column to view the actual activities that make up each lesson.
*(Note: The student will view these files at full browser window size and will automatically be pushed through each activity. He or she will not need to navigate exercises as you are doing now.)
