Let’s Go Learn and Harcourt Achieve Partnership
KENSINGTON, Calif., (April 1, 2004) - Today Let's Go Learn formally announced its partnership with Harcourt Achieve. This partnership involves collaborating to modify and release a version of the award-winning LGL Reading Assessment under Harcourt Achieve's Elements of Reading label. The first part of the Elements of Reading product series, vocabulary and fluency, launched in Q1 of this year. The second part, phonics/phonemic awareness and comprehension, will be released this summer. This series is being released under the Steck-Vaughn imprint and consists of four print pieces: vocabulary, fluency, phonics/phonemic awareness, and comprehension. Specifically, the Elements of Reading: Online Assessment is a companion piece to the entire series; it allows teachers to use prescriptive student profiles to drive differentiated instruction. In addition, materials in the Elements of Reading series are recommended in the classroom and student reports of the Online Assessment, making data-driven instruction a reality at the classroom level. Let's Go Learn adapted its valid and reliable assessment engine to work with the specific instructional materials of Elements of Reading, which are directly correlated to No Child Left Behind requirements and authored by multiple experts in the reading field. When asked about the purpose of the online assessment piece, Let's Go Learn's Chief Educational Architect Dr. Richard McCallum said, "Timely and appropriate diagnostic assessment takes the guesswork out of planning instruction and provides teachers and administrators with the data they need to drive and track real growth in students and keep parents informed." Elements of Reading: Online Assessment will be available to view at the 2004 International Reading Association's annual conference in Reno, Nevada. Let's Go Learn will be demonstrating the product in booth # 475.
