Let’s Go Learn Launches Premiere Online Reading Assessment

KENSINGTON, Calif., (December 7, 2001) - Let's Go Learn, a literacy-focused educational software developer, officially launched its innovative online reading assessment that seeks to bring the next generation of reading assessment tools to parents and teachers. Unlike the majority of assessments, which simply present a generic reading level for students, Let's Go Learn's assessment is focused on providing specific diagnostic information that will aid in the remediation of struggling readers. CEO and co-founder Richard Capone states, "Learning to read is complicated. In metropolitan areas, it is not uncommon for 75% of students to be reading below their grade level. Given the reality that reading specialists tend to be scarce or non-existent, we are bringing the specialists to the home and classroom in the form of our online assessment. And because we are web-based, we've eliminated logistical barriers such as costly deployments and limited IS support." Let's Go Learn is currently selling its assessment in the homeschooling market via e-commerce on its web site and is also deploying into the Tahoe/Truckee Unified School District. Superintendent Pat Gemma recognized the power of the centralized diagnostic reading assessment offered only by Let's Go Learn. Prior to its launch in September 2001, Let's Go Learn was awarded a U.S. Department of Education grant. The grant specifically recognized Let's Go Learn's innovative approach and powerful team of experts.
