DOMA Pre-Algebra class analysis
Users of our DOMA Pre-Algebra assessment love the detail that the reports provide on individual students. This particular assessment has amazing adaptive logic and its ability to identify gaps within specific constructs is amazing. However, often classroom teachers do not have the time to look at all the individual student reports and figure out which specific skills or processes need the most attention across the entire class.
Our solution, which was in response a customer’s request, was to provide a roll up using our classroom profile tool for pre-algebra. To get to the screen below follow these instructions:
1) On the <Class> tab and select the class you want to examine
2) Go to the <Pre-Algebra> scores and report tab
3) Click on the [Display Class Profile] button
4) Finally select a "NCTM Instructional Focus", letters A to F. G is a "reading confound" and H is "algebra ready" so they don’t apply for further analysis.

Geometry deals with constructs 9 and 12 in our pre-algebra assessment. Clearly, in this small class, Geometry is an area that needs instruction attention. The screen capture shows how the teacher can see the detailed breakout of both constructs 9 and 12 (the rest of construct 12 is cut off in the screen capture above). In particular, we see by the first two 17% that most students don’t understand slope which affects both "Knowledge of slope" and "Knowledge of line equations" item mastery.
This report can provide teachers with clear directions for where they should spend their time. Furthermore, if teachers breaks their classes into groups, this report could be used to differentiate instruction by small groups within any particular class.
