The Lexile Book Database contains more than 100,000 English and Spanish fiction and non-fiction titles from more than 450 publishers. Once you know a student’s Lexile measure, you can search the database for books that fall within his or her Lexile range.
The DORA assessment will provide you with a Lexile level on student who have completed the assessment. View the summary report and you will see a Lexile range into which each student approximately falls. Remember though that any leveling system has inherent variance built into it. Students’ interest will affect how easy or hard any given text is to read. Furthermore, student motivation will affect their performance during assessments. If they don’t try their best, reaidng levels may be reported lower than their actual levels.
