4.2.1 Getting Started with Unique Reader (K-5 reading)

Instruction Hints & Tips:-
- Lesson plans are created for each student based on his or her most recent assessment scores.
- Unique Reader has four tracks:- Sight Words, Phonics, Vocabulary and Comprehension.
- Students work on the lesson plan created for them or teachers can easily change the lessons.
- To change lessons, go to the ‘UReader’ tab from within your teacher account.
- Choose the lesson number you wish the student to perform.
- Enter the new lesson number in the white box in the line with the student's name.
- Click on “Change Lesson” in the “Change Current Lesson” column.
- Student Log: This log details the date, lesson number, component and graded review score for each student. In the column “Student Log” click on “detail” for each student.
- View Lessons: All lessons can be viewed by teachers to enable them to become familiar with the Unique Reader program. To view these lessons:-
- On the <UReader> page, select the word “List” for the track you wish to view. “List” is found under the heading for each track.
- In the “Components of each Lesson” column, click on the lesson you wish to view. This will show you the exact lesson a student will be given.
- Unique Reader Usage: Teachers can monitor which students are using Unique Reader by running an usage report for a class of students (See 2.10).
